1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge at 60 Furman Street, Brooklyn, New York.

Very industrial, but slightly clinical hotel that uses a great deal of reclaimed materials. This was a treat for my new wife the day we got married. The room was lovely, but typical New York size hotel room, perhaps for the money I expected a little more. The view was amazing, it was described as a Liberty view room, but you needed to look out at quite an angle to see the statue of Liberty, but we did have a great view of lower Manhattan. It would have got an extra star, but to get room service there was a $5 delivery fee, plus a $1 per item service charge. Second grumble is that despite me phoning ahead to let them know it was our wedding night (we had a very late check in), there was no acknowledgement. I was not after an upgrade or bottle of Champagne, but many hotels would have said congratulations, or left a little note in the room. This hotel is really lacking the personal touch. When you pay $400-$500 per night I think you can expect a little bit extra. No slippers either, which should be available in that price range.
